Our stunning country hotel dates back to the seventeenth century and is surrounded by the beautiful rolling countryside of Derbyshire. We have 23 luxuriously furnished rooms that come with an ensuite, towels and complimentary toiletries as standard. We’re in the perfect position for exploring the local area (including the thrilling Alton Towers theme park!), and our hotel is a destination for couples and families alike. Let our expert hospitality team take care of you, and we’ll make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible. In addition to The Boars Head Hotel, we have two sister hotels in Derbyshire – The Lion Hotel and Littleover Lodge.

A Family Friendly Hotel

Extra beds can be provided for children under 12, in any room at an additional charge of £20.00 per child per night, which includes a continental or full English breakfast. All other meals will be charged as taken. We do offer a children’s menu. Travel cots are provided free of charge.

FAQs

Can pets stay at The Boars Head Hotel?

We welcome well behaved pets at a rate of £10 per night, per pet. Pets MUST be pre-booked direct with us as we have a limited amount of rooms available, please ask a member of our reception team for more information. Unfortunately we do not allow pets to sleep in vehicles in our car park overnight

Is there parking at the hotel?

Yes! We have free on-site parking available to guests, including accessible bays for Blue Badge holders and guests with disabilities.

Is breakfast included in the room rate?

All of our guests can enjoy either a Continental or Full English Breakfast at The Boars Head Hotel. This is not included in the room rate as standard but can be added on for an additional cost, please contact our reception team for any queries regarding this

What time can I check-in?

Guests are able to check-in anytime from 2pm. If your arrival time will be after 9pm, please let us know in advance.

What time is check-out?

Guests are required to check-out from their room by 11am on the day of their departure.

With a whole range of menus to choose from including a Gastro menu and dedicated children’s menu, we cover all the bases here at The Boars Head to ensure you are comfortable throughout your stay.

Our welcoming bar area also serves as a comfortable and relaxing area to wind down after a busy day. We offer a range of cocktails, spirits, beers & ciders, wine, soft and hot drinks everyday, all served up with a smile from our friendly staff!
