What Sundays Are For
Sundays are the day of rest, religious or not, Sundays are seen as the day where most places are on limited opening hours, many people are home from their 9.5 Monday to Friday jobs and they can no sit back and relax. So why not take a rest, and enjoy your Sunday lunch being lovingly prepared for you. There’s no need to be stuck in a hot kitchen (we’ve seen the weather forecast) there’s no washing up piling up after you and you can sit back and spend some time with family. If you are more relaxed while out and about, we are within walking distance of some stunning places. On the edge of the Peak District National Park, we are perfectly situated for a trip into the national park, or even a thrill-seekers love for Alton Towers is just a short drive away. Here at The Boars Head Hotel, we have changed our ways from the days of carvery. We now bring to you, from one of the best gastropubs in Derbyshire, the NEW carvery. Out with meat and veg that have been sat under a heat lamp. Out with having to balance your plate while trying to reach and spoon your gravy on. Here we bring the new carvery. Every meal is freshly made, plated up, and brought to your table. This means that everything on your plate is as fresh as possible, with no waiting around, with the added benefit of not having to leave your seat.
Why The Change?
If you visited us pre-pandemic, you might remember how popular our carvery was. With very little food left sitting around and more often than not a queue to fill up your plate. Thanks to the pandemic, we couldn’t have the queues, we couldn’t have people filling their own plates it just wasn’t easy. So we made the short-term decision to deliver our famous food directly to our guests. Well, incredibly, the response was great. The Majority of our guests loved the new way of enjoying a Sunday lunch, and even more so when they realised they could lose that veg they hate but just asking for it to not be on there! Now that we could reopen the carvery, we have had too much of a great response to our new way of enjoying Sunday lunch that it’s here to stay!
