Start Your Shopping at Lichfield Christmas Fayre
The Lichfield Christmas Fayre takes place on Sunday 15th November 2026, from 10am to 4pm.
Stalls spread through the city centre, with indoor shopping at the Guildhall and The Hub at St Mary’s too. Expect gifts, delicious treats and local brews, alongside entertainment from choirs, bands, Morris dancers and a few mischievous elves.
It’s a lovely opportunity to find something different for the people on your list. Although we can’t promise you won’t find something for yourself first!

Meet the Makers at Trentham Christmas Markets

Open from 10am to 4pm, with free access to the market, the events bring together artists, crafters, vintage traders and artisan food and drink producers.

Light Up Your December in Alrewas
Illuminated takes place at the Royal British Legion National Remembrance Gardens, formerly the National Memorial Arboretum, in Alrewas on selected evenings from 4th to 22nd December 2026.
The experience uses colour, light and sound to share stories throughout the grounds, with dazzling installations and interactive elements along the route.
Wrap up warm, take your time exploring and enjoy a winter evening together. Whether you’re planning a family outing or a festive date, it’s a lovely reason to turn a December evening into an overnight break.
Tickets are required, and the event does not run on 7th or 14th December. Check available entry times before arranging your stay.

Follow the Star at Lichfield Cathedral
For another evening adventure, Lichfield Cathedral’s Christmas Light Show runs from 15th to 21st December 2026, with entry times starting from 5.15pm.
This year’s show, Follow the Star, brings the Nativity story to life through projections, light and music. Displays will appear on the Bishop’s Palace, the Cathedral’s West Front and, new for 2026, inside the Cathedral itself.
Visitors can also enjoy seasonal music and explore the Christmas Tree Festival and Crib.
Spend some time in Lichfield before your booked light-show slot, then return to The Boars Head for a restful night. A festive evening feels even better when it’s part of a little getaway.
