What’s On In Derbyshire For Autumn 2019

Autumn is officially here! And with the new season comes a whole calendar of events to be enjoyed. First, in October, there’s Halloween (Scarefest, anyone?), then Bonfire Night, which is  swiftly followed by the big one – Christmas! 

Moving on from summer may seem a bit of a wrench for some, but we’re here to share with you all of the fun things you can get up to throughout autumn right here in Derbyshire! 

Derby Festé – 27th – 28 September 2019

Now in its 11th year, Derby Festé is all set to be a spectacular event you won’t want to miss. Centred around the theme of moon, space and tides, this lively festival is suitable for the whole family. 

Produced and presented by Déda, Derby LIVE, QUAD and Derby Theatre in association with the Without Walls Associate Touring Network, visitors can enjoy art installations, breathtaking parades, circus performers, theatre acts and more over two days.

The Big BIF Weekend – 18th – 20th October 2019

The Big BIF Weekend in Buxton brings together beautiful opera, fantastic authors and glorious music. And it’s sure to be a weekend filled with fun, arts and culture.

Over the course of the weekend there will be talks and performances by poet Pam Ayres, Dame Felicity Lott and Adrian Kelly, Jonathan Rugman and the Sacconi Quartet.

Half Term Halloween Hoot at Chatsworth – 26th October – 3rd November 2019

Autumn just isn’t the same without a halloween themed celebration, and Chatsworth has just the thing for families. Children of all ages will enjoy meeting farm animals, taking part in creepy craft activities and riding the Fright Flight into Warlock Wood – if they dare!

Chesterfield Fireworks Extravaganza – 3rd November 2019

Hosted by Chesterfield Borough Council the annual Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at Stand Road Recreation Ground on 3rd November. 

Fabulous for families, there’ll be an array of fun fair rides for kids, delicious food stalls and (of course) the massive firework display at the end! 

Let It Go Afternoon Tea Party At Bluebells Dairy – 16th – 17th November

On the 16th & 17th November, visitors to Bluebells Dairy Farm in Derby can enjoy a tea party with the characters of the hit Disney film, Frozen. 

There’ll be sing-a-longs, meet and greets, delicious cake and sandwiches and entertainment to make a truly magical event kids will love. Tickets are on sale now!
