Getting Festive In 2021

Getting Festive In 2021

It’s the time of year where we start to plan our festive activities! From where we will be enjoying our Christmas Dinner, to how we will spend our boxing day. If you’re looking to meet up with friends and family this festive season, we have a festive menu available from the start of December.

Christmas Fayre Menu

Nothing says Christmas is coming like meeting up with friends and family, all dressed up in your festive finest and enjoying a hearty Christmas inspired meal and maybe a tipple or two. Before you get booked in, it’s only right that you want to make sure the Christmas Fayre menu here at The Boars Head, has something for every member of your party to enjoy. Here’s just a few to get your tastebuds tingling. For starters, we have an all-rounder in our Tomato and red pepper soup, which is not only Vegan but can also be served gluten-free. Or perhaps you are looking for something a touch more hearty? Give our Wild Game Terrine a try. Onto the mains, if you’re feeling traditional, we have our Buttered Turkey Roast, complete with all the trimmings. For an alternative festive option, what about trying the Aubergine, potato and roasted chickpea curry? Do you think you’ll be full after the first two courses? Impossible. We all know about that second dessert stomach, especially at Christmas time! Our festive puddings will be updated on our daily specials board. Give the team a call on the day for more information!

Christmas Day Menu

The best part about eating out on Christmas day is not having to spend hours chained up in the kitchen, followed by the bomb of washing up and cleaning that follows. Here at The Boars Head, we take care of all of that, allowing you to relax and have food brought to you! You can still spend this magical day with your family, and you won’t have anyone missing for long periods of time while they’re in the kitchen! Start with your typical soup starter of butternut squash and sage, or double up on your game with a wild duck breast starter. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas if we didn’t have turkey on the menu, complete with all the trimmings. Our Vegan nut roast offers an alternative for those who wish to delve into this tasty dish. Christmas day is a time where we eat as much as possible. This includes a hearty sized pudding. Will it be a traditional Christmas pudding? See our special puddings menu on the day for the complete range.

Boxing Day Menu

After such a busy Christmas day, whether you cooked at home, visited family, or even ventured out for your dinner, all you want to do on boxing day is to sit back and relax. Not to mention the fact you might not want to see any more dishes for a while! So why not book in and let us help you to relax. Boxing day sees our menu increase, offering you significantly more options, some of which are less festive than you would have seen before Christmas. After all, there’s only so much turkey you can eat. So why not delve into our vegetarian lasagne? Or get messy with our big dirty burger. Don’t worry, we’ll have extra napkins on hand if you need them. For something in keeping with festive traditions, we also have roast sirloin of beef or a spot of belly pork.

New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve, we aren’t just going to serve your food, then turf you out into the night. We welcome you to stay for our magical New Year’s Eve “All The Glitters” Party! Start the night off right with a hearty 3-course meal, before having a dance and a few drinks with your loved ones. Start right with some mulled wine jelly, or even oxtail tortellini before moving onto your mains. Try out our pan-seared duck breast, seabass fillets or our stuffed portabello mushrooms. As always, don’t forget to check out our daily specials for dessert, paired with a nice glass of fizz to get the night started!

The festive period is a busy time here at The Boars Head Hotel. So to ensure you a table please get in touch with a member of our friendly team who will be happy to get you booked in on your preferred date and time. If we request you to fill out a pre-order form please follow the link or head over to our special menus page.
