Vegetarian Delights At The Boars Head Hotel

Many of our guests are now making a conscious decision to become vegetarian. And many others have been for a number of years. So here at The Boars Head Hotel, how are we ensuring that our menu has a little bit of something for everyone? And we aren’t walking about your standard vegetarian sausages here either!

To Start

While some of us love a good starter, others may see this as delaying the main event! No matter what you see it as, it’s always nice to know there are options on the menu available to you. Our usual starters include the soup of the day, where we aim to ensure that we always have a vegetarian option available. We also have the modern favourite Portobello Mushroom & Halloumi Arancini Balls, served with red pepper pesto and salad. Head down to our Sunday section for Sunday’s starters!

For The Main Event

The main event! The reason many of our customers return time and time again! Some of our vegetarian main dishes are loved by everyone! Even those who stay away from the veggies at home! So which are our favourites? Let us tell you about these dishes: The Vegetarian Yakitori – This Japanese inspired dish consists of a large skewer of chargrilled mushroom, paneer cheese, roasted carrot, peppers, onions and charred corn. Served with two sides of your choice from our main menu. Yummy. Sizzling mixed veg fajitas – A touch of Mexican spice with this favourite! Containing: Pan-fried chunky peppers & onions seasoned with Mexican spices, served with soft flour tortillas, guacamole, homemade orange & black pepper salsa & grated cheddar cheese. Chargrilled Cauliflower Steak – This tasty dish captures everyone’s tastebuds! Complete with: wild rice, lentils, tomato and olive sauce. Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne – No menu should be complete without a good vegetarian lasagne! Our tasty Italian classic is served with a house salad and garlic bread.

Sunday Funday

Sundays are our favourite here at The Boars Head. The hustle and bustle, with so many happy faces enjoying our food! Our Sunday menu varies from our standard menu and can even change between the weeks. Some of our standard Sunday starters include Goats Cheese & Red Onion Tart, Mediterranean Vegetable Ratatouille or even honeydew watermelon! For your Sunday main, we offer a fantastic meatless roast or special roasts on our specials menu. We also have a sumptuous Pea, Brie and Spring Onion Risotto to capture your tastebuds.
