October is here. And with it, it brings the leaves on the ground, the reds oranges, beautiful scenery. But don’t forget it can also bring the cold nights and mornings, along with heavy rains and high winds. So what a great time to step inside at The Boars Head Hotel and get dry with some good gastro food.
Come In For A Warm
Here at The Boars Head, we have an amazing selection of country walks around us. Even in the rain, these walks boast some amazing scenery (just remember the waterproofs!). Some of the best are just a short drive away. So when you’ve had enough of the rain, either walk on over to us or park up in the car park and come inside to get nice and warm (or dry in some cases).
Warming Meals
When you’ve been out on a walk, you’ll always be looking for something to eat. And when it’s a bit cold and damp, you’ll be looking for a hot, heartwarming meal. That’s where our fabulous gastro menu will have some mouth-watering options for you. The team here at The Boars Head have a few warming favourites that we recommend. Slow Braised BBQ Beef Brisket – served with roasted sweet potato and red onion, beer-battered onion rings, purple slaw and charred corn on the cob. A hearty meaty dish. Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne – served with house salad and garlic bread. One for the vegetarians amongst us. Certainly a warming meal. Sandwiches – Not all walkers want a hugely filling meal, or some want to make sure they still have space for a big dessert. This means that our collection of Sandwiches is perfect!
Hot Desserts
Pudding, Dessert, Afters, The Sweet Stuff. However, you want to call it. The final course is always our favourite. So why not make it a good one. Our dessert menu may not be the same every day, with specials coming and going. So don’t get ahead of yourself by choosing from the Dessert Menu, you may find we have something more up your street when you arrive. Cheese lovers fear not, there will always be cheese and biscuits on the cards!
