That’s why we try to keep our finger on the pulse of all things food related in Derbyshire. From festivals to local markets, we’re suckers for a gathering of fellow food fans. And we love trying the weird, wonderful and delicious creations we come across on our searches.

Vegan Markets UK Comes To Derby
Vegan food has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years, and the number of vegans in the UK quadrupled between 2014 and 2018. With this rise in demand we’re seeing more and more vegan focused foodie events popping up all over the country, and Derby is no exception!
On Saturday 19th October, Vegan Markets UK will return to Derby City Centre with another huge outdoor vegan celebration. There will be over 40 stalls set up on the day, all selling vegan products from local businesses, including cosmetics, clothing, home-wares, and mouth-watering food between 10:30am and 4pm.
The Derbyshire Christmas Home, Food & Gift Market
We couldn’t do a roundup of upcoming foodie events in autumn and winter without mentioning Christmas, could we? The festive period is without a doubt the biggest and best celebration of food we know, and this time of year always brings about a vast array of markets, food festivals, and opportunities to eat good food than any other.
On Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th November, The Christmas Home, Food & Gift Market will arrive at The Roundhouse in Derby. And this well-loved yuletide market is sure to be popular this year. There will be glasses of prosecco on tap to warm you up as you saunter around the stalls, along with a huge variety of handmade jewellery, home-wares, gifts, and artisan food to buy. This is an event based on pure indulgence, so don’t miss out! Entrance costs just £2 on the door.
Derby Christmas Artisan Market
If you miss out on the home, food and gift market – don’t worry. You can always drop in to the Derby Artisan Christmas Market and do a bit of last-minute shopping on 21st December. From 9am till 5pm a huge range of local traders will descend on the Eagle Market with their vintage wares, antiques, crafts and (of course) food and drink stalls offering local produce. It’s perfect for picking up those last minute prezzies and a few goodies for Christmas day!
