Staycations With The Boars Head Hotel

Staycations With The Boars Head Hotel

Lockdowns have eased, restrictions have lifted – mostly. But what has over a year of lockdown taught us? It has taught us that you can have a great holiday right here in the UK! So whether it’s a couple of nights in a luxury hotel room (like those we have at The Boars Head Hotel) or somewhere to pull up your caravan or camper for the week, why not enjoy a staycation right here in Derbyshire.

The Caravan Club

The caravan club here at The Boars Head is open from April to October and is set on the grounds of the hotel. With a number of pitches available, you will have access to electric hookups and water for just £16 a night.

Our wonderful caravan site is small enough that you will not be crammed in amongst larger groups but large enough to allow you to space out and enjoy your own space on our wonderful green lawns. Don’t forget to bring your chairs so you can soak up the wonderful sun that we are seeing! If you’re interested in having a breakfast cooked for you, why not head into our restaurant between 8 am and 11 am and enjoy something from the range on our breakfast menu.

The Local Area

Staycations can be a nice and quiet relaxing time, or they can be full of adventure and activities. Whichever you are looking for, we have some great local places for you to visit! For those adventurers amongst us:

Swadlincote Snow Sports – We may not see that much snow here in the UK, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy snow sports! Even in the height of summer. If that’s right up your street, head over to Swadlincote Snow Sports!

Alton Towers – For the adrenaline junkies, one of the UK’s favourite theme parks is right down the road. Why not take a ride on the smiler, or even Rita at Alton Towers this summer.

Doveridge Clay Sports – for a touch of sport with a little less high energy, why not take a wander over to Doveridge Clay Sports for a spot of clay pigeon shooting? For those looking to relax a bit more:

Carsington Water – head out for a stroll around Carsington water and take in all the breathtaking views, and beautiful fresh air.

Markeaton Park – This spectacular place boasts a range of stunning views with a number of things to see and do. From exploring the great outdoors, visiting the craft village and enjoying a spot of lunch in the Orangery Cafe. For more places to visit, check out our Things To Do page.

We are currently taking bookings for our caravan site, however, space is limited and filling up quickly. So please get in touch as soon as possible to get the dates that you are looking for. If you are planning to join us in the restaurant during your stay, take a look at our Menus and you can even book a table in advance! We look forward to welcoming you to The Boars Head Caravan Club.
